Reclaim your movement with regenerative medicine at Hudson Pro Orthopaedics

Could you be a candidate?

Our regenerative medicine specialists can help determine whether PRP or BMAC therapy may be appropriate for your condition based on your diagnosis, imaging, activity level, and treatment goals.

Regenerative medicine focuses on supporting the body’s natural healing response using components from your body. Unlike treatments that only address symptoms, regenerative therapies use your body’s own healing components to help support recovery in appropriately selected patients. At Hudson Pro Orthopaedics, we offer two regenerative treatment options:
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses a concentrated portion of your own blood that contains platelets, growth factors, and healing proteins. After processing your blood, the concentrated PRP is injected into the injured area to help support your body’s natural healing response by supporting tissue repair and reducing inflammation.
Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) therapy uses a concentrated portion of your bone marrow that contains stem cells, progenitor cells, growth factors and other healing components. A small amount of bone marrow is typically collected from the pelvic bone, processed to concentrate these regenerative cells, and then injected into the injured area to help support your body’s natural healing response.
Both treatments are recommended for tendon injuries, ligament injuries, mild arthritis, cartilage damage, bone healing, and orthopedic conditions where healing has slowed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is PRP therapy?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses a concentrated portion of your own blood that contains platelets and growth factors. After your blood is processed, the PRP is injected into the injured area to help support your body’s natural healing response.

What is BMAC?

Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) therapy uses concentrated cells, platelets, growth factors, and other healing components from your own bone marrow. The sample is typically collected from the pelvic bone, processed, and injected into the treatment area to help support healing.

What is the difference between PRP and BMAC?

PRP comes from your blood and is often considered for tendon, ligament, and soft tissue injuries. BMAC comes from your bone marrow and contains a broader mix of regenerative cells and growth factors, which may be considered for certain cartilage, joint, or more complex orthopedic conditions. Your provider will recommend the option that best fits your diagnosis and goals.

How do I know if I’m a candidate?

Eligibility is determined during a consultation with one of our orthopedic specialists. We review your symptoms, diagnosis, imaging, medical history, prior treatments, activity level, and treatment goals to determine whether PRP or BMAC may be appropriate for you.

How many PRP or BMAC injections will I need?

Treatment plans vary by condition and provider recommendation. Some patients may receive one injection, while others may benefit from a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart. Your provider will discuss the recommended plan during your consultation.

What should I expect during my visit?

Your orthopedic specialist will evaluate your symptoms, review your medical history and imaging, and discuss whether PRP or BMAC is appropriate for your condition. If treatment is recommended, our team will explain the procedure, expected recovery, risks, benefits, and alternatives.

Are PRP and BMAC appropriate for every condition?

PRP and BMAC are not appropriate for every patient or every orthopedic condition. Your provider will review your diagnosis, symptoms, imaging, medical history, prior treatments, activity level, and treatment goals to determine whether regenerative medicine may be a suitable option for you.

Will my treatment plan and cost be discussed before care begins?

Yes. If PRP or BMAC is recommended, our team will review your personalized treatment plan, expected number of visits, estimated cost, and available payment options before treatment begins. We also offer payment packages and payment plan options to help patients choose the approach that works best for their needs.
